In Sanskrit, Akṣobhya means immovable. Akṣobhya is one of the Five Dhyani Buddhas, with colour blue in the east direction (centre in the Guhyasamaja mandala), holding a vajra, belonging to the vajra family, representing:

- purification of aggregate of types of consciousness
- space element
- body consciousness
- mirror like deep awareness
His consort is Lochana.
