Four Immeasurables; 四無量心, 慈悲喜捨;Tibetan: ཚད་མེད་བཞི (tseme shyi); Wylie: tshad med bzhi; Sanskrit: Brahmavihara, Caturapramana, Apramana;
Four immeasurables are four qualities of completely enlightened beings:
- བྱམས་པ (jampa) 慈 Love (metta): wish that beings are happy and have causes of happiness
- སྙིང་རྗེ (ningje) 悲 Compassion (karuna): wish that beings are free from suffering and causes of suffering
- དགའ་བ (gawa) 喜 Joy (mudita): wish that beings remain happy and happiness increase further
- བཏང་སྙོམས (tangnyom) 捨 Equanimity (upekkha): wish that beings are free from attachment and aversion to others.
四無量心是慈無量、悲無量、喜無量和捨無量。
