Jangtsey Chojey (“Dharma Master of the Northern Peak of Ganden Hill”) is one of two abbots of Ganden Monastery. Jangtsey Chojey and Sharpa Chojey are appointed to the Ganden Tripa, the throne holder of Ganden Monastery, on an alternating basis.
Jangtsey Chojey is a former Abbot of the Gyume Tantric college. The post is appointed on merit alone through the ranks:
- Obtain a Tsorampa or Lharampa Geshe degree from a Gelugpa monastery.
- Obtain a Ngagrampa Geshe degree from a Tantric College.
- Rise on merit to become a Geko or disciplinarian of the Gyume Tantric College.
- Become vice-abbot of the College.
- Become Abbot (3 year tenure) of the College.
蔣哲曲傑(北頂法王) 為藏傳佛教格魯派最資深的下密院卸任方丈堪布。
根據格魯派傳統,蔣哲曲傑與夏巴曲傑兩個法座的持有者,將會分別輪流擔任甘丹赤巴之位。
