In Hinduism, Indra is the king of gods residing in Amaravati, with thousand eyes on his body, holding a vajra and riding on a white elephant.
In Buddhism, Indra is a Dharma protector who resides above Mount Meru (Sumeru), in Trayastrimsha (Thirty-Three Heaven). He was one of two gods (the other was Bhrama) to request Buddha to turn the wheel of dharma.
帝釋天是欲界忉利天之主,身有千眼,居住在須彌山頂,座騎為六牙白象,經常率領天人與阿修羅戰鬥。原是印度教的神明。曾經在佛佗成道後請佛轉法輪的天神,另一個是梵天。
