Bodhisattva

Tibetan: ​བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ      Chinese: 菩薩

In general, a bodhisattva is a person who is dedicated on the path towards buddhahood.

In Mahayana Buddhism, a bodhisattva is someone who has generated bodhicitta, a compassionate mind to attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all sentient beings.
