Oddiyana was a small country in ancient India, located now in Pakistan. Padmasambhava is believed to be born here. Oddiyana, means royal garden in Sanskrit. It is known as paradise of the dakinis and where Gautama Buddha gave the first teachings of Vajrayana. Alternate spelling / Variations: Urgyen, Ugyen, Ogyen, Uddiyana, Udyana.
