འཇིག་རྟེན་ཆོས་བརྒྱད

Eight worldly concerns, Eight worldly dharmas; 世間八法; Tibetan: འཇིག་རྟེནཆོས་བརྒྱད (jikten chö gyé);  Wylie: ‘jig rten chos brgyad; Sanskrit: aṣṭalokadharma;

Eight worldly concerns, (eight worldly preoccupations or samsaric dharmas) motivate the actions of ordinary beings. They are obstacles to spiritual practice.

  • attachment for gain and aversion of loss,
  • attachment for pleasure and aversion of pain,
  • attachment for good reputation and aversion of bad reputation,
  • attachment for praise and aversion of blame.

世間八法是八種要避免的情緒: 著利得、著快樂、著稱讚、著名譽、厭惡損失、厭惡痛苦、厭惡譏嫌、厭惡毀譽。執著世間八法妨礙對實相的認知。

This is an beta (testing) version of our Chinese / English / Sanskrit / Tibetan Buddhism popup dictionary system.
