In Sanskrit, Vajrapani means “Vajra in hand”, Vajra holder or Varja bearer. He is a bodhisattva in Mahayana Buddhism, a protector and guide of Gautama Buddha, representing the power of all the buddhas. He is responsible for transmitting tantra to human, therefore is known as Lord of Secrets.
金剛手是密教之主,藏傳佛教的一位主要本尊及護法。
