Qolhang, Jokhang temple was built in the seventh century in the city of Lhasa. It is considered to be the most important and sacred temple in Tibet. 大昭寺始建於七世紀吐蕃王朝拉薩市中心，是一座擁有至高無上的地位的藏傳佛教寺院，供奉文成公主帶去的釋迦牟尼十二歲等身像。
大昭寺是漢語名稱，最初命名為「羊土神變寺」，與小昭寺共稱「拉薩二昭」而馳名於世。大昭寺融合了藏、唐、尼泊爾、印度的建築風格。
