梅果巴是班噶地方的廚師，從小就接觸佛法，但未有機會領受上師的教導。一夜一位瑜珈士來到他的門口乞食，梅果巴便留這位瑜珈士下來長期供養，於是瑜珈士便傳授他灌頂與密續教授。經過六個月，梅果巴便了悟自性，瞪大眼在各個村莊遊走，最後肉身進入空行淨土。(維基百科)

Mekopa was a food seller in Bengal. He was a kind hearted man that he often fed the poor for free. This did not escape the notice of a certain yogin whom Mekopa also feed daily. The yogin asked why he is being so generous. In reply, with laughter, Mekopa said, “perhaps I’m storing up merit for a better rebirth.”

The yogin then offered to teach him a sadhana that will guarantee such an outcome. Mekopa was more than delighted to receive. The yogin then gave him the initiation that transfers grace and instructed him in the nature of mind.

Mekopa meditated. He eventually came to realize the truth of his guru’s words: that all phenomena are figments of the mind’s workings; that the mind itself is vastness without end, where there is neither coming nor going. For 6 months he remained within the realization of the nature of his own mind.

However, the intense contact with profound truth caused him to roam the cremation ground like a madman. People began calling him Guru Crazy Eyes. His profound teachings changed many lives. In time he rose bodily into the Paradise of the Dakinis.
