Eight Freedoms (Astaksana) are the physical states to avoid so that one is able to learn and practice Buddha Dharma to become enlightened:
not living in three lower realms: hell, hungry ghost and animal realms, not being a long-living god, not having wrong views, not being born in a place without dharma, not having complete faculties, and not being born in an age without buddha.
八有暇是指遠離:地獄、餓鬼、旁生、長壽天、執邪見、生於邊地、喑啞、佛不出世,八種無法修行佛法而得到解脫的狀況。
